Anne Hamilton's Garden - Bloom Festival 2010This garden is an attempt to reverse the motion that is water and the stillness that is earth. There are three areas of land surrounded by water. These Islands are shaped to resemble a rolling seascape and each wave goes against the others to emulate choppy water The islands will be retained by timber sleepers and these will be clad with Liscannor dry stone walling. The garden is sustainable; only long term mowing would be required.
The environmental impact of the garden would be positive as the majority of it is green. No concrete or cement has be used and the “Green Screen” fencing has the benefit of reducing more sub micron particles from the atmosphere than two 25ft trees.
